100% ask for precedents!! I switched practice areas as a senior associate this year, which means I'm essentially a first year that gets paid more and turns docs without spelling errors or formatting inconsistencies, but the best learning tool I have is precedent. I feel like 99.99% of corporate law has been done before, maybeeeee 0.01% is new, but most of it is just updating what's been done before to bring it up to market standard. And in terms of "market", if you can get your hands on a comp chart (or spend some time and put one together on your own) with the key terms you're negotiating in a doc, it's super, super helpful in figuring out what is generally standard in your practice.
